Andrew Cline's passion
lies in working with groups and individuals who share a desire
for learning, exploring and experiencing. His primary strength is
getting to the core issues that influence the operational and
relational aspects of work teams and using those issues to
further organizational goals. People are charged with working
together to accomplish organizational, professional and personal
goals; it is the measurable attainment of these goals, done with
integrity, that add joy and meaning to work life. Andrew is the
principal member of Cline Consulting LLC (www.clineconsultingllc.com)
As an undergraduate student, Andrew began his career in
leadership and team development through teaching technical
outdoor skills within an expedition format. For months at a time
in North and South America, he would guide people through
mountaineering, sea kayaking, and desert backpacking trips. It
was in this format that he developed his ability to inspire,
instruct and, in turn, be inspired by those around him. Andrew
volunteers as a mediator for Whatcom Dispute Resolution Center (www.whatcomdrc.org)
and Skagit County Mediation Services. He also volunteers in the
design and implementation if
curriculum for Leadership Skagit (http://learningcenters.wsu.edu/skagit/leadershipskagit.html)
and Leadership Whatcom (www.leadershipwhatcom.org) Andrew
teaches 'Love and Logic' Parenting classes. His interest in child
development and improving family and school life is through the
work of his father, Dr. Foster Cline, who co-developed the
Love and Logic program (www.loveandlogic.com) emphasizing
effective parenting and classroom techniques. Andrew also teaches
courses in leadership through the National Outdoor Leadership
School (NOLS, www.nols.edu). Through NOLS, he works with
such organizations as the NASA Astronaut Office, Wharton
Leadership Ventures, and Saudi Arabia's National Commission for
Wildlife Conservation and Development.
Andrew holds a B.A. from the University of
Colorado and an M.A. from the Leadership Institute of Seattle.
He is a Bastyr
University Certified Mediator in family, youth, and commercial
disputes and Senior Faculty member with the National Outdoor Leadership School.
He is also a Certified Trainer in Parenting with Love and Logic.
Andrew and his family live in Bow,
WA. His spouse, Molly Doran, is executive director for Skagit Land Trust.
Together they raise their Ethiopian son, Mehari. Always enveloped in the
joys and challenges of family life, Andrew also likes to spend his time
beekeeping and doing anything that gets him into the wild outdoors. His
special passions are world travel, running ultras in the mountains, and
spending what little time he can on his 'campo' in southern Chile.
