As Peter Drucker
admonished, the foundation for doing good is doing well. Jeffrey
Davis
likes to teach marketing and creative fundraising classes for
two reasons: to learn, and to connect with and energize students
so that they may do well in their professional careers, in order
to do good with their personal lives. As a special assistant and
speech writer for Ronald Reagan, Jeff learned about leadership,
authenticity, optimism, courage, and humor. As a small business
owner and marketing consultant he learned about strategic
planning, the importance of marketing and innovation, and the
difference between effectiveness and efficiency. And, as an adjunct
faculty member at three universities teaching marketing
at the MBA level, he learned how to listen for meaning, the
power of enthusiasm, and how to "build ideas to last."
Jeff
holds a BA in Philosophy, Psychology, and Business from San Jose
State University. He attended law school, and did graduate work
in political science and business while working full time. He
has formed two 501(c)3 non profit organizations focusing on
domestic and international public policy issues.
Jeff is known as the father of four extraordinary children
and nine immoderately happy and beautiful grandchildren. He has
written and published articles, poetry, lyrics, and speeches.
Jeff loves to read, think, write, walk, listen to music, and
sing along with the Bee Gees, Elvis, and Roy Orbison. His most
treasured moments, however, are spent with his family and
friends. He wakes up in the middle of the night to work on the
book he is writing, and to figure out why 25,000 human beings
just died of hunger while he slept! Tomorrow, Jeff may create
the very idea that helps eliminate hunger from our communities
and the planet!!
