As a financial advisor with Bay City Financial
Services, Rick Joines works with individuals, corporations, and non-profit
organizations on a wide range of financial decisions. Specializing
in corporate retirement plans and higher net worth individual
retirement planning, Rick works in close partnership with his
clients in establishing goals and objectives, and monitoring results.
His clients value his experience and his attention to detail.
Rick is recognized in the industry as a Chartered Retirement Plans
Specialist. Completing this professional education program with the
College for Financial Planning has given him specialized knowledge
to lead corporate plan sponsors through the complicated process of
offering a qualified retirement plan to their employees and
assisting individuals in choosing an appropriate individual
retirement plan. He is committed to helping his clients evaluate the
ever-changing retirement plan laws to make the appropriate decisions
for themselves and their employees.
Rick’s last position before entering the financial industry in
1998 was in management with Advanced Technology Laboratories, Inc.
In his twelve years with the firm, he held positions of
Configuration Manager, Base Data Manager, Business Analyst, Master
Production Scheduler, and Senior Buyer/Planner.
Rick has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the College of Business and
Economics at Western Washington University. He graduated with a
combined major in Business Administration / Computer Science.
At Whatcom Community College, Rick teaches classes
on the topics of Investing, asset allocation, and financial
planning. He enjoys helping people to understand how money works and
explaining how they can make small changes in their financial life
today in order to reap huge rewards in their retirement years.
Rick has donated his time to many charitable organizations,
including
Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and has served for many years as a board member
for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Whatcom County.
After living in Woodinville for many years, Rick and his wife, Treva,
moved back to Whatcom County in 1998.
