Brian Lawrence has been supporting and teaching individuals to use
personal computers (Apple and Windows), email, web browsing, wireless
networks, purchasing safely on the web, online banking, personal websites, digital cameras, iPods, scanners, file management, digital security
and purchasing/ selling on eBay for over 5 years. He earned his B.S. in
Biology with minors in Chemistry and Computer Science in 1998 and since
then has worked with technology in various capacities. He enjoys staying
current with the latest technological innovations and solutions. Drawing
on this experience, Brian recently started a new business in Bellingham,
called Tech Guide, which specializes in friendly, expert, personalized
technology support and consulting. This work allows him to capitalize on
his passion for identifying individuals' needs and the technology that
best meets those needs. In addition, Brian excels at teaching others to
use technology by taking complex concepts and making them accessible to
all individuals, regardless of their experience level. He infuses humor
and practical application in his work with students.
Currently, Brian teaches classes at Whatcom, Bellingham
Technical College, and Digital Art Moments (in Anacortes, WA). Two of his
clients probably put it best when they said, "Technology makes life rich
and interesting, and it really isn't that difficult with somebody who
understands it” and "He is the most thorough teacher and explains things
methodically and repeatedly and patiently until I ‘get it’." Come learn to
enjoy technology. For more information, visit www.whatcomtechguide.com.
Besides computers, Brian enjoys running, rock climbing, sailing, swimming,
mountain biking, backpacking, and traveling.
