Doug McKeever

Geology Instructor and Outdoorsman

"Mountains have been a huge part of my life since I was knee high to an avalanche lily. I ski the mountains, climb them, run them, walk them, sometimes seemingly crawl them after 100 miles of running, gaze at them, photograph them, sleep on them, and probably spend too much of my time dreaming up, planning, and doing more adventures on and around them. My "home range" is the Cascades, and it is to them I keep returning (it helps that they are at my backdoor)."

If Doug McKeever has any legacy in the sport of trail running, it is not due to his performances in races, but to his willingness to share his knowledge of Northwest trails in his classes. He has had the privilege of exploring by running and walking literally thousands of miles of our region's trails and was a pioneer in trail running in the northwest before it became popular.

Doug holds a B.S. and M.S. in Geology from Western Washington University.
