Gary Meader has been
printing his own photographs for almost 20 years and finds great joy in
teaching others to do the same. In that time, he has taken many
workshops with master photographers to increase his skill and
understanding. His emphasis of late is to keep the photographic energy
high in the face of the onslaught of "fully automatic" and digital
cameras. His classes end up being a lot of fun, as people look at
each other's work and critique. Gary still produces his own work and
prints in his home darkroom.
Obviously photography is more
than a hobby for Gary. He has volunteered extensively in local schools and
organizations teaching the fundamentals of photography, and is a mentor
to High School seniors.
