Kathy Washatka began her career as a high school teacher and has been involved
in teaching and training ever since. She has taught at the college level
for the past 15 years and loves connecting with others who are open to
and curious about how they can continually challenge themselves to learn
more. Her second career in the financial field provided 20 years of
practical experience as a leader and manager. Kathy has combined her
expertise in both arenas to create a third career as an independent
consultant, coach, trainer, and mediator.
Kathy holds a BA in English from WWU, and an MA in Applied Behavioral
Science from the Leadership Institute of Seattle/Bastyr University with
a focus on management and consulting. She has completed mediation
training through the Dispute Resolution Center in Snohomish County as
well as various other leadership and training programs.
Kathy is an avid moviegoer, a self-taught gardener who loves to play
in the dirt, and a traveler who is ready to pack a bag at any time. She
is active in the community as a member of the Bellingham/Whatcom County
Commission Against Domestic Violence and a board member of the Whatcom
Film Association.
