Starting or Managing Your Own Business
If you are thinking of starting a new business or looking for help with your existing business, this class is a must! Seasoned professionals will teach you the fundamentals of planning for success, as well as how to develop a business and marketing plan. Course covers financing, recordkeeping, accounting, taxes, legal considerations and business insurance. It serves as an excellent review for existing business owners as well as a practical introduction for new entrepreneurs. Instructors are from SCORE, Counselors to America's Small Businesses. Lunch break from 12:00-1:00 pm.

Starting or Managing a Contracting Business
Are you thinking of starting a construction contracting business or needing to review the basics for an existing business? This course will explore how to prepare a business plan, how to fund and market your new business, and how to satisfy government requirements. Also learn about licensing, health and safety issues, worker's compensation, unemployment insurance, wage and hour laws, taxes, liability, and more. As a bonus, discover how you can access a variety of contracting-related business plans, including general contracting, surface finishing, carpentry work, and electrical and specialized contracting. Presented by SCORE, Counselors to America's Small Businesses. Session is closed.

Starting or Managing a Restaurant Business
Are you interested in starting a new food service business but don't know where to begin? Are you a current restaurant owner/manager who could use a good review of business basics while gaining tips on how to better manage staff, equipment, food handling, and advertising? This workshop, presented by SCORE, will provide a solid survey of total food service operations. Learn about research data for startup operations, equipment needs, financing, licenses and permit applications, and expenses and capitalization. We will also cover staffing issues, safety of employees and guests, food handling guidelines, management of services, partnering with suppliers and distributors, menu design, customer relations, marketing, cost management, and more. Designed for current and potential food service owners and managers, chefs, head waiters and other servers, and investors. Session is closed.
