Access 2003--Introduction
Discover the power of Access, a popular database system from Microsoft, and learn how to efficiently and effectively organize your data. Class will focus on designing and managing relational databases with Access 2003. Learn to enter and edit data into databases with related tables and through data forms that you design. Then query and report on your data using objects that you will create. Textbook, included in course fee, will be provided at first session.

Access 2003--Level 2
This class will continue to focus on the power and efficiency of relational database systems. Class will cover intermediate to advanced features of Access, including data normalization techniques, controlling data entry through tables and forms, query join properties, automating with parameter and action queries, and enhancing forms with subforms and command buttons. We will also be customizing reports and expanding the reach of your data through connections to Word and Excel. Textbook, included in course fee, will be provided at first session. Prerequisite: Access--Introduction.

Access 2003--Level 3
 
This class is for the database designer and renovator. We will discuss how to analyze existing tables and restructure the common flat database. Emphasis will be on advanced query techniques such as crosstab, pivot table, and pivot chart queries. Topics will also include using macros to automate tasks, creating forms and reports from scratch, and database maintenance features such as backing up, compacting, repairing, passwording, documenting and analyzing performance. Textbook, included in course fee, will be provided at first session. Prerequisite: Access--Introduction and Level 2.

Access 2003--Level 4
 
This advanced class will focus on making your data available on the Web through data access pages. We will also look at the startup choices available for your database, along with creating an entire switchboard interface for your users to tie together all of your tables, queries, forms and reports. Topics will also include importing and exporting features, splitting a database for multiple users, and a thorough look at the full-service security system built into Access with its workgroups, users, permissions and passwords. Textbook, included in course fee, will be provided at first session. Prerequistes: Access--Introduction and Levels 2 and 3. Session is closed.
