Getting to Know Your Digital Camera
The two most common complaints about digital cameras are, "I don't know how to work my camera," and, "I can't seem to take good pictures." This hands-on class, led by Dan Marshall-Campbell (computer instructor and shutterbug) and Al Sanders (photography instructor), will solve these problems and answer many other questions. First, Dan will cover the essentials of digital photography: image resolution, picture formats, zoom, flash settings, and proper camera care. Dan and Al will help you decipher menu options and configure your camera's essential settings. You will then spend time shooting "reference" pictures to get familiar with the operational range of your camera. In the second half of class, Al will teach you how to take extraordinary pictures with your camera. You will learn how to set up a shot, frame your picture, and deal with any issues you may encounter. Class includes time to take pictures around campus to be reviewed in class. Familiarity with Windows is strongly recommended. Please bring your digital camera (with charged batteries), its instruction manual, extra camera memory, and charging cord or extra batteries to class. Section A: Lunch break from 12:30-1:30 PM.
