Getting Started with InDesign
Don't miss this opportunity to take a tour of Adobe InDesign CS3 for desktop publishing. Using Adobe’s familiar tools and palettes, you’ll find it easy to create professional looking newsletters, flyers, posters and PDF files for the web or professional printing. Class will also cover using the latest techniques for working with text and graphics to create multiple page layouts. Although the class will be using InDesign CS3, it will be applicable to anyone using earlier versions of InDesign. Prerequisite: experience with creating, saving and editing text using either the Macintosh or PC platform. Previous experience with an Adobe application is very helpful.

InDesign--Level 2
 
Using InDesign CS3, students will be introduced to more advanced features such as Master Pages, Paragraph Styles, and professional text formatting. This hands-on class will also explore many more of InDesign's panels, including the Links Panel, which is essential for working with imported graphics and text. Additional time will be spent on creating colors, the Swatches Panel, and a wide assortment of special effects including transparency and gradients. Prerequiste: Getting Started with InDesign or instructor permission.

Getting Started with Acrobat
Discover why using PDF (Portable Document Format) makes it easier than ever to publish, share and distribute your information electronically! This introductory class on Acrobat CS3 Professional will cover how to create PDFs using popular software programs such as Microsoft Office and Adobe's Creative Suite, as well as using content from the web. Learn how to assemble and customize multiple pages and create bookmarks to "jump" from page to page. Class will also discuss Acrobat’s more advanced features such as interactive forms, shared commenting, and file optimization and security. Prerequisite: Previous experience with editing text, saving and printing in at least one other application on the Macintosh or PC platform.

Power Presentations with PowerPoint 2007
With Microsoft PowerPoint, you can create impressive presentations with speed and ease, with your end result a professional, memorable masterpiece! Class covers important Powerpoint 2007 features such as the Office Button, the Quick Access ToolBar, the Ribbon, and the Window Frame. We will also cover basic PowerPoint operations including creating slides, applying transitions and custom animations, creating handouts, and using speaker notes. Also learn how to insert clip art, graphical objects, charts, and text from other programs. Textbook, included in course fee, will be provided at first class. Familiarity with Windows strongly recommended. Course is applicable to PowerPoint versions 97 through 2007.
