Breathe, Relax, Knit! A Knitting and Yoga Retreat at The Chrysalis  (Expanded format)
Back by popular demand, Maureen Braun returns with an expanded two-day spring retreat for beyond beginning knitters! Join us to discover all that yoga and knitting have in common, as well as the distinct, individual characteristics of each practice that supports the other. We will explore spiritual aspects of knitting and yoga; begin one or more unique one-skein projects; share past projects; practice easy, accessible yoga techniques and poses to refresh the body (no previous yoga experience necessary); and practice "present moment" awareness. In addition, guest-speaker Andrea Evans, owner of Apple Yarns, will discuss the selection and combination of different types of yarn. You will leave the retreat feeling refreshed, renewed, and inspired with a deeper and more refined understanding of presence and creativity in your knitting journey. Maureen Braun is a yoga teacher, artist, and avid knitter. She is the creator of the handbook, Yoga for Knitters. Please dress comfortably; materials list will be sent with class receipt. Lunch break from 1-2:30 p.m. Class is held at The Chrysalis Inn & Spa.

Simply Yoga: Restorative Poses
Expand your exploration of yoga through restorative postures that are passive, deeply nourishing, and restful--a wonderful addition to every student's personal practice. Students will learn how to sequence the poses for optimum benefits. Please bring 2-3 blankets to class; mats and other props will be provided. This class is for students who have taken beginning level yoga classes or have taken at least one 8-week session of Simply Yoga. Class is held at the YWCA on the corner of N. Forest and Maple.
