Elder Care Options--Help When You Need It

Many of us will one day find ourselves in the position of needing care for our self or a loved one. Luckily, our community has more resources than ever before. This valuable workshop demystifies the maze of services and options, enabling you to find the best match for you or your family member. Learn about alternative living situations, transportation, nutritional and medical services, in-home care including home-health and hospice as well as how to access these options. Discover costs of each and the role of Medicare, Medicaid, LTC insurance, and other funding options. Instructor Debbie Gann has worked in the healthcare field for over twenty years and is currently director of Home Attendant Care in Bellingham and Vice Chairperson of the Alzheimer Society of Washington. She invites you to bring your questions.

Then, you will take an interest inventory that will help you choose what careers are best suited for you. By combining your strengths with your interests, you will discover what career will make you happiest in all aspects of your life. Melanie Springer has an MA in Counseling Psychology with a focus on Positive Psychology. She is a dynamic and inspiring teacher who is dedicated to educating others about happiness. Students will need to take a brief online survey prior to class; instructions will be sent with course receipt.
