The Drumming
Circle |
|
Join instructor Ramon Murillo to
discover a new voice of life rhythms, spirit, and unity through
drumming. We will look at the history of the drum through
imagery and recordings, and then Ramon will invite you to
participate in Native American drum rhythms, chants, dance, and
game playing--including the snake dance and bone games. We will
practice modern drumming circle techniques, including breathing
and various drum tones. Class will end with group drumming
circle sessions. You'll leave with a connection to the community
and a feeling of protection, healing, and enlightenment. Please
bring your drum or rattle. If you don't have an instrument, the
instructor will provide one. Ramon Murillo has taught Native
American cultural arts and participated in drumming, chanting,
and ceremonies for over 30 years.

Instant
Piano (For Hopelessly Busy People) |
|
You don’t need years of weekly lessons
to learn how to play the piano. You can learn enough in this one
workshop to play almost any song on the piano using both hands.
Then go on to perfect your technique at home using a home-study
CD designed by the instructor, Robert Laughlin. This system,
used by the pros, focuses on chords, not tedious note reading.
It’s effective and great fun! $25 materials fee for textbook and
CD is payable at class. Robert Laughlin invented the one-day
chord piano workshop in 1982, and has successfully taught this
method to over 150,000 students. He has worked as a professional
pianist and is the author of some 20 books on learning piano,
several of which have been translated into German. He holds a BA
from the University of California. |
