Ballroom Dancing: The ABCs
Ballroom dancing is timeless, romantic, and an impressive social skill. If you have never danced, or want to practice what you already know, this class is for you. Learn the basic steps of the Foxtrot, Waltz and nightclub slow dancing--a perfect style for a crowded dance floor. Experienced teacher Jerry Lesniak will have you gliding across the dance floor in no time. Also learn the fundamental techniques of leading and following. Partners recommended but not required or guaranteed. Class fee is for one person. Class is held at the YWCA on the corner of N. Forest and Maple.

Swing Dance
Swing dancing is hot and so much fun! Join us and learn the basic steps of Single and Triple-Step Swing. You will experience the versatility of these steps as you dance to Pop, Rock, Country, and Big Band music. Find out why "It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing!" Partners recommended, but not required or guaranteed. Class fee is for one person. Class is held at YWCA on the corner of N. Forest and Maple.

Line Dancing: Beginning
Line dancing is fun, versatile, and, best of all, you don't need a partner! Join instructors Haines and Gloria Fay as they show you how to dance the most popular line dances of the past decade in this six-week course. You'll learn how to move to the beat, count steps, and combine figures as you dance to a wide variety of music: Country, Big Band and Rock & Roll. Please wear shoes or boots (preferably leather-soled) that allow you to pivot easily on the dance floor. Class is held at the YWCA on the corner of N. Forest and Maple.

Salsa Dance: Beginning
The Latin beat is hot! Salsa dancing not only looks great on the dance floor, but it's fun, easy to learn, and a great way to exercise. Join instructor Dana Dryg as she presents this popular party-style Mambo, danced to fast upbeat Latin music. Don't miss this chance to get a little salsa in your life! Also gain an understanding of the history, music and costuming of this captivating dance form. Instructor Amanda Rietz has studied and performed Middle Eastern dance for over 10 years and is cofounder of a local professional dance troupe. Experience the "aloha spirit" in this beginning hula class. You will learn basic hula steps as well as the words and meanings corresponding to the movements of this graceful Polynesian dance. Instructor Jessica Ilagan-Gessel has danced for over 10 years and especially enjoys teaching beginners! If you are an admirer of the hula, don't miss this opportunity to experience a blend of Hawaiian culture, exercise, and fun! Class is held at Bellingham Athletic Club--Meridian location.
