Join local
singer/songwriter Tom Hodge and discover new ways to expand your
guitar playing style. If you already know basic chords and enjoy
playing and singing, take your skills to the next level--beyond
strumming. Using simple finger-picking patterns, you will learn
to create grace and power behind the tunes you already know,
while adding new songs to your collection! Bring an acoustic
guitar to class.

Kids' College: Guitar Camp: Zero to Hero!

be a real GUITAR HERO (italics)? Then leave your Xbox behind,
pick up a guitar, and head to our summer camp for an experience
that will have you strumming, composing, and singing before you
know it! In this innovative course, you will learn how to play
simple chords, compose a melody, and write lyrics that will
become your original song. Instructor Tom Hodge has taught
guitar and ukulele at WCC for over five years. His CD of
original songs, "Shadows and Light," is highly acclaimed, and
his well-crafted tunes have been recorded and performed by many
West Coast artists. Bring your own acoustic guitar. Camp is
geared for ages 12-16. |

| Everyone can
learn to play the ukulele--and that includes you! An easy
instrument to master, the music that comes out of this
reasonably priced powerhouse brings smiles and foot-tapping to
audiences anytime and anywhere! Spend five evenings with Whatcom
County's most exuberant "uke" player, Tom Hodge, as he gets you
started. By course's end, you will be playing some of your
favorite tunes with confidence. Bring your ukulele to class. |
