Employing generic Spanish phrases understood by all speakers, Command Spanish provides learner-friendly materials and teaching techniques designed for an adult audience. No prior knowledge of Spanish is required! Training focuses on real-world phrases used at work, not on the long process of learning grammar and verbs. All training materials are designed by nationally-recognized professors of Spanish and second language acquisition, professors of curriculum and instructional design, Spanish language translators from the US and Latin America, and practitioners in the field consulted on specific industry needs. How Does It Work? Command Spanish focuses on teaching occupational Spanish in a limited time frame. The teaching method does not focus on grammar or the whole language, which can take years to learn, but specific phrases related to individual industries and professions. For example, a nurse doesn't need to learn verb tenses in order to explore symptoms with a patient and provide treatment. Training is provided in a low-stress classroom environment using various training techniques to thoroughly instill Spanish phrases. Role-play, pair work, intensive drill, simulations, and other exercises make the training enjoyable and informative. Training materials include take-home audio CDs to help maintain long-tern retention of classroom content, situation cards with the most common phrases for a particular industry, and an instructional manual.
